Probably my least favorite part of my job is being a weatherman. I swear whatever my gut says, the weather does the opposite. Aursheen’s senior session was no different. We knew storms were a possibility all day. Aursheen had her hair and makeup done so we started the session early and went for it. All the while, I was watching the radar and just knew with my luck, that we may only get in about 20 minutes before the rain came.
We started Aursheen’s session right away, umbrella and all, and the sprinkles started! This was not looking good at all. Nothing will make a photographer panic more than knowing hair and makeup was done for a session. I would literally take the umbrella from her, take a shot, and hand her the umbrella again. If you’re not from Texas, let me tell you what happens when there’s rain in the area. Humidity that can make any straight hair turn into a perm.
I have no idea how it happened but the sprinkles let up and the downpour must have skirted past us, it never rained. We paid for it in humidity but Aursheen’s hair and makeup stayed flawless during the entire session. I, on the other hand, looked like a wet poodle. I’m so glad that for once the weather was on my side. And then a miracle happened, the sun popped out the last 10 minutes of our session. I love a good backlight photo so this made my heart so happy that everything worked out.
I love Aursheen’s outfits. I love the solids she chose, so classic and with the pop of color, her photos were anything but boring.
