Fort Worth senior, family and newborn photographer Answers Your Questions
How do I set up a family or senior photo session?
See that contact button at the top of the page? Click that contact button and fill out what type of session you’re interested in with a time frame of when you’d like to do a session. I’ll let you know my availability and help answer any questions you may have. Once we know that our schedules match up, I’ll require a portrait contract (see the “schedule a session” button) to be filled out as well as the session fee paid. As soon as those items are received, we get to talk about all the fun stuff like locations, wardrobe ideas, etc.
What is included in the portrait session fee?
The portrait photography session fee covers the photographer’s time and talent for the actual session, session preparation as well as the reveal appointment. It does not cover any prints or additional purchases. Your session is not considered booked until the session fee and portrait contract are received.
Where will my session take place?
I have a list of location favorites that I like to share after the portrait contract and session fee are complete. You certainly do not have to use one of those locations but clients love to look through them to see the “look” they want. There is a travel fee for locations more than 30 miles outside of 76028. Some locations require a fee to shoot there. The fee will be additional to the session fee. All newborn sessions will be done at my studio in Burleson to have access to all my props and lighting.
Can we do multiple locations?
The session fee includes one location. If you’d like to add an additional location there is a $50 fee. Rest assured, each location is a great stand-alone location.
What time of day do you shoot your sessions?
I’m a huge lover of the golden hour when the sky acts like a giant softbox. That typically starts 1-1.5 hours before sunset so it depends on the time of year. Of course, dreary overcast days are a different story. We may need to bump your session early for lighting purposes. We will touch base the day of the session to make sure we’re good with weather, lighting. Newborn shoots are done during the week only and in the morning at the studio.
How long is a session?
Family photo sessions are usually around 45 min to 1 hour. Senior portrait sessions last about 1.5 hours with 2-3 outfit changes and newborn sessions are the longest lasting around 2.5-3 hours.
How long before I get to see my photos?
Approximately 7-10 days after your session, I will send a proofing gallery for you to view. You will have approximately 5 days to look at your gallery and make your selections that you would like me to edit. If you need additional time to open your gallery there is a $30 fee for another 48 hours. While I offer digital images, I feel strongly that it’s important to have these images displayed somehow. After feedback from my clients, many have mentioned wanting them on their walls but the task seems daunting. Please let me know how I can help you build the perfect wall display for your home.
Do you offer payment plans?
I do offer 0% interest payment plans for 2, 3 or 4 months. Products and images are not released until all payments have been made. I even have clients make payments leading up to their session.
How many images will I see after the session?
I cull through the images after each session choosing the best smiles, focus and lighting to show you at your reveal. I will cull through hundreds of images and narrow them down for you.
Do you offer digital images?
I do! I offer collections that not only provide you with digital images but also products that I order from my professional lab. I am very passionate about choosing a printer for your images. If you can buy prescriptions there, please do not get your photos printed there. My only recommendation is www.mpix.com.
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
It happens. Rain and high winds are inevitable. I keep a close eye on the weather for your session and together we make a game plan if the weather is conducive for both of us to make your session a success.
When do I receive my products?
After payment is received, all print products will be ready within 1-2 weeks. Specialty items such as canvases and albums take approximately 2-3 weeks.
Do you shoot weddings?
As much as I love weddings, portrait photography is where my heart is. While I don’t shoot weddings, I love shooting engagements and bridals.
What lighting do you use?
For my outdoor photography, natural lighting. For my studio, I use studio lighting.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Absolutely! They make wonderful gifts and are available in any amount.
