Results from the 2018 Shoot & Share contest are in this year. I will admit that I didn’t vote like I usually do every year just because life has been super busy. You can lose track of all time and what year it is once you get sucked into voting because it can be very addictive. I’ve been participating in the Shoot & Share contest since 2015. I’m not going to lie, it’s no joke and there is some really tough competition. Sometimes I look at the talent out there and it makes me question ever picking up a camera again. Each year the amount of entries increases and each year the talent blows me away more and more. There were over 412,000 images submitted this year! Talk about intimidating, but it’s also so inspiring!
It’s a commitment to vote. The whole voting process taking six weeks, but as you vote more and more photos get eliminated. Once a year we have the unique opportunity to come together with a single mission: to honor and celebrate photographers and continue to spread joy! The Photo Contest is a place where great photos, and inspiring photographers can be discovered.
The reason the Photo Contest is so powerful is because it unites us. Photographers who work day and night throughout the year take a huge step of courage to share their photos and inspire each other. Companies that typically compete with one another set aside their differences to contribute a million dollars in prizes for all the winners. It’s a truly special event and it’s our favorite time of the year. Sharing is at the heart of it all. By sharing what we’re creating and coming together for one purpose we can make this industry and the world a better place.
