This precious newborn has a very special place in my heart. I taught with his grandmother for years. We were teammates during my last years as a teacher. Over the course of three years, we became close, and she treated my children like her own grandchildren. When I turned in my resignation, we both cried. So when Anderson’s Nana called me up to do a session for her first grandbaby I was beyond thrilled (and nervous). It was was so much fun having both grandmothers at the session to help me (really they truly were so awesome).
Can you believe the amount of hair on Anderson’s sweet head? I’ve never photographed a newborn with so much hair. Thank goodness mom and dad brought a brush. Note to self: buy a newborn brush for the studio!
At first, Anderson was wide awake during the session but still as content as could be. We even captured this lucky grin.
But then the we added the warm studio + swaddling + a pacifier = THIS…
Anderson’s dad works for Red Hat a software development company and he brought a red hat as a prop. To put a baby in a hat is always a tricky one because they really have to be completely OUT. Thankfully, Anderson cooperated beautifully and we captured this! I think he just became the company mascot! I love dad’s red hat tattoo blurred in the background.
I try not to have favorites but the parent shots always tug at my heartstrings because look at how tiny he is in their hands!
I love my time connecting with parents during our long newborn shoots. We commiserate about how you never knew you could be so tired but how it’s oh so worth it. Amanda and Adam are absolutely smitten over Anderson. He is one loved and adored baby. I can’t wait to watch this little guy grow up.
