It’s not very often I get to do an anniversary session. I wish I did more because they are some of my favorite!
Mandi contacted me and really wanted to do an anniversary session at the land where they manage. Her husband, Bud, is a ranch manager on endless acres in The Middle of Nowhere, TX. I mean they had to come get me because I got so lost!
The whole way out to their land were the darkest skies. Several times I thought about calling them to cancel because it looked like it would rain at any minute. I decided to chance it. They took me around the land and I couldn’t help but get giddy. I mean it’s not everyday that you see an abandoned gas station, wild hogs, and deer during one of my sessions. Bud has to be one of my funniest clients I’ve ever had and so that always makes a session fun.
I can definitely see why Mandi wanted to capture them here. What an incredible place and just when we were were wrapping up the session, it began to rain. Normally, that’s when it’s a wrap but we just went with it and it ended up being some of our favorite shots of the session! So glad we went through with it, rain and all.
I loved capturing them at a place that is so meaningful for them. Thank you for such a great idea, Mandi, and for coming to find this lost city girl! 😉
