So many serendipitous things happened when it came to this senior session. At first things weren’t going according to plan. The location Holly chose wasn’t open and wasn’t ideal for walking in nearly triple digit heat in the middle of Texas summer, but then things starting to turn around.
Serendipity item #1: Holly’s dad was my 8th grade Career Investigations teacher. So technically he was my first job coach! Photographer wasn’t even in my realm of possible professions at the time, I’m almost certain. But how ironic that here were are a couple of decades later and my career involves me taking his daughter’s senior portraits. Wow.
Serendipity item #2: The field was full of dragonflies. Someone once told me that when you see numerous dragonflies, it’s a sign of good luck. If that’s true, Holly has tons of good fortune coming her way. It’s not often that I’m able to capture the timing of something so perfect with a gorgeous senior, setting and dragonflies flying by at the exact right moment. Again…wow.
Holly is a dynamite soccer player, an absolute sweetheart and very involved with her church and had just come back from a mission trip to Cambodia when we did our session.
So I guess there really was a serendipity item #3. It would have to be this sunset. I never know if we’ll get a good when we plan these sessions weeks or sometimes even months in advance. But when you see one like this, you can’t just let it pass by.
Holly and the Petersons, thank you for such a fun session. I love that our paths crossed again and in such a fun and full circle way. Thank you!
